SATURDAY, JANUARY 16, 1864. Started Early from Shell Mound marched to Bridgeport - distance 8 miles and Encamped 2 miles north of Bridgeport our train not being up- The ground was froze solid. SUNDAY 17 Pleasant after the sun got up. And very warm toward the middle of the afternoon-Our teams came up late in the evening many of them having played out. and all about used up. MONDAY 18 Having made application for an examination before a military Board at Nashville was notified to Report at the Office of said Board at Nashville Tenn. on the 19th of this month at 10. O'Clock A. M. of said day got my papers and left in the cars late this eve traveled all night-Reached Nashville Tenn 8 O'Clock
