grain, and 200 bushels of potatoes, 500 bushels of corn. dont you think that the men had to work to get that all taken care of, and we had quite a time cooking for them. we have a boy now helping us to plough. they will be done in a few days. Have you been to any Donations this fall? I was to one last week, and had a fine time. the Preacher had about 159 dollars donated to him. dont you think that quite a donation for a new county like this? I expect to attend a "Sociable this week in Plainview" There is nothing going on that is of any account, for the young men are all in the army and all the young ladys are gettind Married. dont you think it is to bad.. Last week we had some company. three old school mates of mine or us to be, that are now married. dont you think it is to bad. And I expect the next time I hear from you, you have changed your name to Mrs Somebody. I hope not, for I expect you will never write to me then. Please do wont you. but I must stop with this nonsense, for I fear it will not suit you very well. excuse me if it does not. Well I guess I must stop with my nonsense, and quit for this time. Please write soon and dont neglect me so long again. Please excuse this poor letter. My love to all the friends and a large share for your Self. Goodnight. I remain your affectionate cousin.
