Supper is over. The bright day is gone & darkness has taken the place of the bright Sunlight. As I stood & gazed off north through the twilight my mind went back to many Happy times & I thought there lies my possessions again my eyes went up toward Heaven & I thought there lieth my posessions by & by I shall Go to enjoy it. Since supper the sergeant seems much worse & cant help entertaining fears that he will get his wish. But Time moves on apace and my sheet is most full. I must think of closing. I dont know as my scrawl will interrest you much but I have done as well as I could under the sircumstances so you will have to be satisfied. You complain of having nothing to write. If I were there or any where at home I could write sheets full to interrest any one from home. Here I have but little Dont complain any more but just write. I desire to be kindly remembered to all the friends For the preasent Good by. I am of course Yours Ever J H M.
