Laysville November the 11 1863 Dear Nelle, After a long silence on my part I take up my pen this after noon to address you through a few lines we are in usual health and hope you are enjoying the same. You will have to pardon me for delaying so long it was on account of getting my picture taken that I put it off so long I had no opportunity to have it taken till this week and so I hope you will forgive me, and as I have nothing of much importance to tell you that would interest you as you are not acquainted here I am at a loss to know what to write the fall session at the Academia has commensed but I do not think it will (the school) be large this winter as the most of the students
