At Home Dec 20th 1863 Sabath afternoon 2 o cl I recd your truly welcom letter last evening and you may guess I was glad to get it although it had not been very long since I heard from you but I can not hear too often we are all tolerably well. Sade has had a spell of sore throat but is better to day and Selma has been quite sick for a day or two your folks were well the last I heard from them The snow is very deep so that there has been no getting around untill yesterday the roads are getting broke some. We have had some very cold weather it has been three degrees colder than any time last
