SUNDAY, JANUARY 4, 1863. Left Columbus Ky for the 17th Regt Iowa vol - went as far as Union city by Rail Road footed it across the breach in the Road and stoped for the night MONDAY 5 Got aboard of the car north of Trenton - and went as far as Jackson Tennissee TUESDAY 6 Took the cars at Jackson, Tenn - disembarked at Grand Junction - walked to Lagrange Tenn where we took the cars again for our Regiment
