SUNDAY, MAY 10, 1863. Lying in Camp about 25 miles from Port Gibson Miss - Left this camp and marched 2 miles beyond Utica and cammed for the night MONDAY 11 moved on at 7 1/2 o clock - towards Raymond - made a very short march we are short of rations especialy bread TUESDAY 12 Left our camp 10 miles from Raymond - marched to Raymond - a hard battle was fought in which l7th were not engaged - Union victory Complete
