WEDNESDAY, MAY 13, 1863. camp at Raymond marched A.M. in the direction of Jackson THURSDAY 14 Marched into Jackson Came upon the Enimy 3 miles from town and fought and whiped him we possessed Jackson 17th Iowa engaged FRIDAY 15 Co. E. of 17th Iowa served at the Hospital back from Jackson The wounded were all taken to Jackson Our division march toward Vicksburg
