MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 1863. all of the Ind Brigade have left for Memphis but us (17) we are awaiting transportation TUESDAY 29 17th Iowa leave Helena for Memphis on board the steamer Liberty No 2 It is supposed we are on our way to reinforce Gen,, Rosecrans WEDNESDAY 30 Arrived at Memphis at 4 A M Raining - march in Camp 2 miles Northeast of Town Got a letter from M A Shearer
