SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31, 1863 Lying on the east side of the [Tenn?] river Left here in the evening and marched till late at night and camped till morning [Received?] a letter from Amy SUNDAY NOVEMBER 1 Marched at 6-o-clock went to Florence Ala a distance of 20 miles one division in our advance A few rebels found in Florence which were captured MONDAY 2 Camped at Florence Alabama Left Florence at 5 o clock PM and marched seven miles and camped
