1869 25th God is visiting us as a people with his chastening rod. The crops are a failure almost, In prosperity we forget the Giver of our good things & run into speculating, extravagances, & pride, but thou, art showing us upon whom we are dependent for all things, & may this lesson prove salutary, lest we be visited with greater judgements
