a flourishing village about 1000 inhabitants, they all seem to own buggies which are light vehicles on 4 wheels There are 5 churches congregational, methodist, baptist, unitarian, Romanist. they say the unitarian has the best preacher, the divinity school at Cambridge is I am told Unitarian. 31st Sunday M.g. Service was held in the Hotel. Proclamation for a fast day August 4 was read in the congrel. church which I went to, The Governor seemed to me to have worded it very happily August 1st Left Lancaster at 11 Northumberland Station at 1 arrived at Quebec by R.r. cars at 10 about The thermometer was at 97[degrees] when we left.
