Sepr 29 the Traveller has come back again she went up to Bayfield, got under weigh about 1 P.M arrived at Marquette some time in the started at 6 A.M by Rail 18 miles to see the iron quarries in the iron mountain, it is a wonderful hill if one thinks of it being nearly all iron about a few feet below the surface & the supply is as far as it yet known utterly inexhaustable, some of the iron that come out is very nearly pure but it is not so hard to break up as one would think for.they work here on a level with the ground but the iron is all underneath as well. got back about 10 A.M. The railroad
