there were trees of any size & if it were laid out with some boldness & largeness of design, as it is any acre of it is a whole & would make a pretty little garden this is somewhat owing to the rocky up & down ground but a great deal to the fact of no paths being made straight but all going round useless corners for the sake of ornament. There were not many people in the Park. the grass was very green but no one walked on it there being notices prohibiting it but nothing to keep them off. Oct 7th Visited Barnums Museum saw Tom Thumb & his wife about 3 1/2 ft high. otherwise did not notice
