anything very particular about it. ---8th. ascended Trinity spire from which there is a very fine view of the city & which is very handsome church inside. took the cars down 3rd Avenue. to Harlem the far end of Manhattan Island about 8 miles from the Battery up the river to the high bridge an aqueduct, a beautiful piece of masonry. 9th Sunday. very few people in the central park. 10th Went to see trotting 1 mile in 2.39, 2.41, 2.42 mis. consecutively by the same horse 11th Took ferry to Staten Island ascended the heights from whence a very fine view of N.Y. harbour, very pretty views from all over the Island
