left at 8 P.M by shore line for Boston, crossed the Rivers Connecticut & Thames on ferries the cars running on to the boats arrived at Boston at 7 A.M. Oct 12 Left Boston at 9.30 A.M, bright & fine. Spent (travelling expenses &c ). from July 20th - Octr 12th about £51. Furs - 30$, 16.50$ book 25.25$ arrived at Halifax Octr 14th about 6 A.M. came on rainy & thick & blew very hard so that we were not able to get off from the wharf till about 5 P.M. nor could we see anything of Halifax There were 2 blockade runners in harbour painted all over white so that they could be
