Transports Last week for Beaufort S.C. and Shermans Army with the exception of a sufficient force to Guard this place will moove on Charleston during this month, we are all expecting a heavy Campaign but hope we may be disappointed as we were in the last. but one thing is sure and that is Charleston, The Hot Bed of Cecession must fall, and General Sherman & his Army are the men to do the work. I may be too sanguin but it is my opinion that Sherman will be in the City of Charleston within Six weeks from this time. The Army is in good health well Clothed & fitted for a Campaign.
I have nothing this evening in the way of news. have been wating for the last three weeks to hear from you, but all in vain, yours of Dec 11" is the last. I have written you three or four letters & mailed you Several papers since I heard from you, and I will try & write you again before we Start, I am still in the Adjutants Office & enjoy my usual good health,
