H’d.. Qrs 7th.. Iowa V.V. Inft Savannah Ga Jany 27" 1865 My Dear Wife I hardly Know how to begin a letter to you this evening for I have written you so many in the last month that my store of news is exhausted, but as we are to start in the morning on another Campaign concluded I would inform you that I was well and getting along fine, was quite put out this afternoon when we got our mail and there was nothing for me. we have had three large mails in the last two weeks and I have not Recd a line from home while others get letters of a late date. it is enough to give one the blues, do not understand me as blaming you my dear it must be the fault of the P.O. Department. Some of the Boys from Ft M Recd letters of the 15th inst.
