Iowa (with our present commander,) he is a disgrace to the Regiment is drunk more than half the time, (this is private,) for you Know a "Private Soldier" must not blow on his officers, hope however that this will not last long if the war continues I will try to get away from the Regt
General U.S.Grant & General Mead are here I had the pleasure of seeing the Lieutnent General to day for the first time
