will Receive Eight months Pay and one Enstallmnt of Bounty. will then Send you Some money which no doubt you are in great need of. and I hope by that time to be able to give you some Information on the muster out Question at present we have no Idea what will be done with us. there is all Kinds of Reports afloat. but I do not alow myself to believe any of them unless I Know it is official If we are not discharged Soon. I shall apply for a furlough of Twenty days & Try to make you a visit. I Received your Letter of the 31" of May Last night you are very Kinde in Looking up a situation for me, but I fear, my "dear" I will not get Home in time to Enjoy the one you speak of. you speak of being Transfered that I think is Impossible. I could not be a Clerk for Mr.. Hancock & get 75$ Pr.. month unless I. was a Citizen or had a Commission in the Regular Army. I might be Transfered to the Regular Army as a private but I assure you that nothing less than a Commission (and that a pritty big one) will Induce me to become a Regular. I did not feel Homesick while the war lasted, but now it is over I feel that I have done all that I agreed to do.
