I would have Sent you a Larger Draft. but the weather is So warm that I was Compelled to purchase Some Light Clothing the Governmt. Hats Shoes & Shirts are So warm that I could not wear them and you Know that I am now Expected to fix up a little better than when we were Campaigning all the time.
I Bought a Hat. Boots. Vest. and a pair of fine woolen Shirts. for 18$. Paid my wash Bill 4$ which leaves me now about 13$ on hand. "this" I will Save to pay my Expences Home for I Expect to See you Soon.
I make this Statement So that you will not think that I am Spending my money foolishly. as many of the Soldiers do, the money that I Spend for Clothing is not Lost for at the End of the year if I have not Drawn my full allowance for Clothing the money will be Paid to me.
