soldiers as we ever saw Saw some of 24th Corps, too. Days march 12 miles A driving wind all day We are nearly starving 24" Fix camp; and in afternoon begin a line of heavy works Got Sherman's congratulatory order, which says we will have rest and all we can get to eat. Cant see the rest and as for eating, parched corn might be called eating then again might not. However our train is coming from Kingston loaded and then we will eat, Proc came in with some meal & meat, High wind all day
