marched about 8 miles. 12" The pontoons were finished last night before dark and at sunup our Div again took the advance, The 20" Corps crossed on pontoons a couple hundred yds below us, but branched off again to the left a mile out, Our 3d Brig on the line and pushed the enemy back some 12 miles by noon, The Johnnies used a section of artillery to keep our boys back but took good care to keep at least 3/4 of a mile off with it, They hit a few of our men, one of the 18 Ky had a shell to pass between his legs and [torn?] him some what,
