May 18". Marched at Sunrise. Weather very warm. Stopped for dinner from 11 AM, to 2 P.M. Marched through Fairfax C.H. Weather cool - windy. Went into Camp at Sunset. Distence marched 22 miles. Late in the eavening rained - continual nearly all night. H, Roeshen Approved H, Allspaugh 19" Camped Lit out for Alexandria late in the day and pitched tents 3 miles from it at 2 PM hungry, tired and in a bad humor 9 miles of a march
