safe (Vertically:-) only a portion yesterday, Seven artillery firing on the S. pike. The boys go for a drove of hogs and kill them all. Until 10 A.M. of to-day it had rained almost incessantly since we started on 24th and the roads are miserable, we having to march through the fields - - 26th Had a good night's rest. The wagons (a part) started to M for rations and at 6 we moved up to the front which we reached about noon our brigade in rear of Div., ,Marched around a high knob
