to be too sure ~. I have paid this day Harrison's Drafts as follows ~ $4960.44/100 ~ $1000 ~ $310 & $4872.19 Amounting to a little over $11,000- I borrowed from Marvin [illegible] $6000 in 10. U.P. cefts. 3' Section leaving me about $500 on Bank - I will use on Monday another Draft on Lambard if required for $15,000 which will carry me over Tuesday and still leave me O. Ames Dft for $20.000. - I did not care to press them too strongly on J Maxwell, having so little to raise & feeling that he would be more willing on Monday - I have three checks on hand having used 4 of the 7 left - I enclose you 4 more for signature if you remain over - I enclose your letter from Mr. Strang about Iron, also send you Pattern of same mkd Cumbria Iron Works, and Pattern of Iron Purchased from Waterman & Beaver by Comparison ~ Yours respectfully Benj H. Brinker To T.C. Durant Esq Newport
