Helen M Grundman Prescott, Iowa Iowa Farm Grove This grove on my father's farm consists of almost every tree that grows in our county. This farm was a prairie when bought by my father seventeen years ago. He and mother planted every tree and put all the improvements that are on the place. Our farm is situated on a North and South road on the east side. This grove extends on about all four sides of the premises. This constitutes about two acres. These trees were purchased from nurseries, father got some from the timber four miles from here, others raised from seed, such as as, walnuts and cedars. Being a prairie the first spring, the sod was plowed up with a breaking plow. The ground being prepared, three rows of trees were set on three sides. These were
