June 22, 1882. Thursday. It has been cloudy all day. This afternoon it got very dark and we were afraid there was going to be a storm. Miss Smith said we could go home if we wanted to. None of the larger scholars went but myself. I would not have gone only I had to go with Ora. I have had my lessons well. Came near being late at noon. June 23, 1882. Friday. Hurrah! This is the last day of school! No more poring over books for three months to come. We have had a good time all day. Are glad school is out; but are sorry to part with our teacher. Adeiu the old school-house.
