Dear Sir: --
The Woman's Christian Temperance Union of Grinnell Iowa voted to request your earnest and active support of one temperance Resolution and four temperance Bills before the present Legislature; namely,
(1)  House Joint Resolution No 11 - By Dawson
(2)  House File No 25 - By Powers
(3)  House File No 169 - By Huntly
(4)  House File No 173 - By Brockway
(5)  House File No 368 - By Bliss.
We believe that the passage of these Bills, two of which have already passed the House, will greatly advance the cause of temperance in Iowa.  We shall watch for your name among the "yeas" when the vote is taken on the remaining Bills.  The Union requests that you work most earnestly to have the Prohibitory Amendment to the Constitution submitted to the vote of the people in order that the liquor traffic may be destroyed root and trunk instead of only pruning out some of its branches.  We are greatly rejoiced that (6) House File No 436 - By Shankland has been defeated.  The Union wishes also to express its appreciation of your support of the Equal Suffrage Amendment to the Constitution that the present Legislature has voted to submit to the people
