J D Tomlinson [Marietta?] Iowa 6th of 5th mo. 1870 Dear friend, Jos. A. Dugdale Thy favor of - date was rec'd. in due time But a [pressure?] of engagements prevented me from responding thereto at an earlier day. I heartily concur with the proposition to hold a convention in your City, and at the time you propose. The enfranchisement of women appears to the next great reformation enterprise, since chattle slavery has become so satisfactorily disposed of and the men & women who have so nobly stood up for the rights of the coloured people are now to bear the see 3rd page
