Fried toasts Toast slices of bread on both sides dip them in warm milk then in eggs well beaten with white wine fry them in butter to be a good yellow. some butter and sugar for the sauce - Mrs Wellings plain cake the receit for which has been frequently given to many friends Beat an ounce of butter into a lb of flour half a spoonful of yeast warmed milk to make it be proper stiffness then rest it by the fire to rise and before you put it into your pan add two table spoonful of sugar and a little nutmeg
