Bread & Apple Pudding Lady F 1876 Pare & core some good baking apples & arrange them in a pudding dish, the same as for a tart. Strew a little sugar over them & the juice & grated rind of a fresh lemon. Then have 6 oz of stale bread crumbs & 3 oz powdered sugar & a pinch of salt ready. mix the bread crumbs thoroughly well together & lay in equal thickness over the apple in the dish. smooth it over with a spoon. sift a little sugar over & bake it [illegible] over 3/4 of an hour.
