Rippey Iowa July 4th 1904. Dear Sister Ellen. No doubt you will be surprised to get a letter from me after so long silence. Your two letters came to me all right & were welcome. For some time I set the Fourth day of July for the answering of your letters & here I am busy at writing. It is now half past ten o'clk a.m. - only father & I are here today. Ellen & Katie will be away for a month yet they are at the Drake University Normal They are so much away teaching & study - you know the home work would keep one of my number of years busy - I suppose you know Maud was
