and gone with her husband to Conn. They went from here to Chicago. Went all through Montgomery Ward Establishment & to the top of it twelve or thirteen stories high. The view of the city from there was not very good as the atmosphere was hazy & smoky - Journeyed some through Canada to gain a knowledge of the aspect of that country. Stopped a while at the Falls. She says the grandeur of the scene can't be told by pen. Must be seen to get a true conception of its vastness & beauty. Mr. Lummis's Mother, brother & sister live not very far away from where Maud & her husband live. It made us all sad for a long time to have them go so far from the old home. They bought them a farm & live on it. In the last letter they wrote Maud said they have about five hundred chickens. eggs & poultry are much better prices there than here. Maud always was a great hand to work among poultry during school vacation
