At Home in Boone Co. Iowa Oct 12th 1876 Miss Ellie M. Mowrer Dear Friend, Many thank's for that kind & heart cheering letter You sent me. It was well composed so nicly written; & best of all it was filled with such good reading, at least it done me much good. So much, that tounge cannot express, nor my pen write it down as it should be, and do justice to my friend that wrote it and sent it to me. No doubt to the most unworthy one it could have been sent too. But nevertheless the Received, received it very kindly and with much esteem to my little
