[continued from previous scan] I had the pleasure of enjoying Your company. Those days (I hope), are only beaming for more brighter ones in the future. and may they not be far distant. Ellie I feel somwhat lonely this afternoon. I expected to be over to the Grove today, but I was disappointed in getting a saddle. so I am oblige to remain where I am. And perhaps You would not have been at home If I had come. That morning I come down to Your place. I did not call as I passed by after [being?] out to see Nathan I expected to be there and work one or two days this last week. but evidently I failed. So I did not get to look at Your pleasent countanance or utter a word or two which I might have spoken had I known what I do now.
