Is it necessary that death should come to the family circle to trace in the dim uncertain future the golden links that bind our hearts & affections? Truly His ways are mysterious & past finding out. You say what shall you do? Is not this the question that has forced itself upon my mind more than once in the last summers & his ones experience? I have a proposition to go to Chicago to the Theological Seminary & a gentleman offers to pay all my expenses if I will go for 3 years. That is 2 yrs from next April. If there is an opening as there seems to be I hope to begin the 2d Wed. in Sept next. Then she labors of love & endurance will be left to others for a time But the proposition not only agrees to pay my incidentals out - tho
