Friday, Dec 12th 1869. For the last three or four days Father has not felt so very well yester day he felt very bad at times had such pain in his head at other times sick on the stomach But today Thanks to thee O Kind Father he is better O my God I ask the to spare his life, that he may stay with us a good while. O how I would which it. O if thou willed it other-wise O God My Father help him give him that sweet peace of mind, that perfect faith in thy promises that when the last moment comes, he can look up to thee, the Auther and finisher of his faith and say, I have faught a good fight. I have finished my course. O receive my spirit. Crown me with life everlasting, cloath me with immortality. O my God I ask the to care forgive, help, guide. [illegible] give him thy holy spirit may he feel thy hallowed presence. O Keep him near and close to thee, hide him under neath the shadow of thy wing that when death comes, he may triumph Jesus Christ Our Lord
