we went home at about 5 P.M. the streets were so full of water, mud & stones that we could scarcely get across. The lower part of Julien Avenue was just like a river & for a time [illegible] people were afraid it would spoil the foundation of the Lormier House. 17th street was ruined. Friday, Sept. 10th Played croquet in the afternoon. Saturday Sept 11th Worked some in the morning. Went down town in the afternoon with Linn and Gracie. Got me a new Copy Book and some gloves. Linn's Aunt Nellie and Uncle Milliard left for Mason City this morning. He is going to keep a store there. Sunday Sept 12th 1875 We all went riding this afternoon.
