Friday June 2nd O! such lovely weather! And O! such "excruciating" examination! For three hours we have sat in school hot, cross & tired, writing a little & then gazing blankly out of the window or reflectively daubing ink on our noses as if that would inform us how to parse participles or correct syntax. Indeed, the trials of school girls are numerous & I'm a goose to write such nonsense -- Good night. Saturday June 3rd I went to a picnic today. There were 10 of us (2 boys & 8 girls) & we started at 10.30 A.M. & stayed all day. It was bright & pleasant & I think we all enjoyed it very much. Rather tired, not as much as I expected to be.
