Artificial Potatoes for Lent. (A Side Dish 2d Course.) Take 1 lb of Butter, put it into a stone Mortar w.th 1/2 lb of Naples Biscuits grated & 1/2 pd. of Jordan Almonds blanch'd & pounded fine; the yolks of 8 Eggs w.th 4 Whites, a little Sack & orange Flour Water; sweeten it to y.r Taste; pound all together till you dont know what it is; & with a little fine Flour make it into a stiff Paste; lay it on a Table & have ready about 2 lb of fine Lard in y.r Pan; let it boil fast, & cut y.r Paste the Bigness of Chesnuts & throw them into the boiling Lard & let them boil till they are of a Yellow brown; when they are enough take them up on a Sieve to drain the Fat from;
