For a Liver Complaint Take 1 oz of Dandelion Root, 1 oz Root Liquorice 1 oz Milk Thistle seed put to it 1 1/2 pint of water, boil it down to a pint and take a wine glass ful 3 times a day boil the 1 oz of Root Liquorice with it, and cut it in thin slices, boil it 1/2 an hour. Mrs. Harase Sents receipt April 29th. /56 For disease in the Kidneys Take as much rolled Brimstone as will lay on a shilling, 3 nights in the week Mrs. Howe Sent April 29th 1856 When Beer causes Heartburn of Flatulency put 20 drops of liquor of Potassie into 1/2 pint of beer it may be taken with or without food.
