-56- truth tells us; such as these have their home with the devouring beast, and the false prophets where all is described as outward darkness. Joel Johnson. Windsor, Virginia twelfth month, 17th., 1912. To my highly esteemed, and dearly beloved companion in the Gospel, Ida R. Chamness, dear friend, In the pure love of Christ, and life that continually flows from the pure fountain of God and the Lamb; and fills my heart. I wish to impart to thee a measure thereof. My spirit has been refreshed today; and my heart has been made glad. And the songs of high praises to Him who made heaven and earth; has all this day ascended to Him, who, sitteth upon the throne in heaven; and, who, sitteth for ever and ever. Thou hast been on my mind all day, and in this holy frame of mind and divine revelation I wish to pen some of my thoughts to thee. There is no one else on earth that I can unfold my thoughts to like I can to thee. The sweet streams of life that penetrate my heart that flows from the pure fountain of God, is more than I can conceal. Neither do I want to conceal it; and I will pass some of it on to thee, Ida. Thou sees now beyond a shadow of a doubt; or cloud of imagination; that thou art given to me as my companion and leader in the gospel
