Wintersett April 20th 1856 Dear Sister Last Sunday I wrote you a few lines but having received one from you since I write again today we was glad to hear you were all well and thought some of coming to see us I hope you will not give it out for we are anxious to see you I should like to know how such a report got all the way to Danville about me being in the last stage of consumption if so I think the stages go very easy for I have not perceived it yet but Danville [omit] always was the greatest place to start a yarn even I seen I am as well as ever I was and we all are James cannot move now he says as quick as he can sell out he will come (little Ally has her feet frost-bitten so James said he was afraid it would injure her I hope not) We have some beautiful weather now I can hardly stay in the house Wintersett is improving I cannot tell how many houses are going up now their will be over a hundred go up this summer this town [omit] is going to be one of them some say
