Desmond Iowa May 6th '68 My Sister On the 29th of March I wrote you a letter, and supposed you had gotten the same long ago, I was taken sick the next day and was confined to the bed for over two weeks, and to day in looking over old papers in the desk I found my letter to you which I had failed to mail We have had some very hard rains in the last ten days and then has non fallen but what I have had the [illegible] of property water logged thoroughly saturated every day, did you ever see a regular hail storm, if you did not you should have been in this city last week, and give new
