Turners Falls. Jan the 13 1890 Dear Brother. I will just write you a few lines. It is a terrible night it is so windy. First it rains and then it snows. It is very sickly weather. Sarah is better and working. If she dont be down agian. You want to lookout for the Distemper it is a bad thing. It commences with a heavy cold. The Doctors order hot lemonade. Old Bourbon Whiskey and Jamica ginger mixed half or teaspoon of ginger to as much whiskey as they take boiling water and all the Cider you want to drink. Sarah had a bad attack of it and Dumb Ague. to geather. If they take cold it turns into Pneumonia which is worse than all. so you will know what to do it you have it.
