23 In 1908 a party honoring Mrs A B Billington of Des Moines, who was visiting in Marion, was given at Mrs Brown's. Mrs Billington was a former resident of Marion, a charter member of the Cary Club and an author of some note. In 1913, sixty five guests were entertained. Mrs. G. L. Wilson, a charter member who was visiting here was the speaker. In 1919 mothers and granddaughters of members were guests of the club. In 1920 daughters of members were guests Also, in 1920, another guest day was held at which time Mrs Lazell of Cedar Rapids spoke on State Parks. In 1917 the delinquents entertained the winners at a luncheon at Mrs Ives tea room. One year our husbands were our guests at Mrs Ives at six o'clock dinner and at a lecture in the library later in the evening.
