18 are capable of receiving a College if nothing else. Adjourned to meet with Mrs Dunn Mrs Mitchell. M. E. Alexander. Mrs Dunn. Chairman. Sec'y. " [Jackson?]. {Com on programme. August 28". No meeting September 11th 1883_ Society held forth at Mrs Jacksons, only four members being present. The President being absent Mrs Latham took the chair. The Sec'y being absent the previous week no minutes were read. Queen Victoria was the subject for the afternoon. After reading extracts from her diary we concluded they were as commonplace as any body's else Mrs Dunn gave the news of the week. We were very glad to welcome a new member, Miss Adams, & she was immediately let to work as critic. The Chantanqua [courts?] being talked of, Miss Adams was appointed to with to the Sec'y - concerning it. We then adjourned to meet the second Tuesday in October. Mrs Mitchell Mrs Alexander. Pres.
