Sep 25 1899 The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. Knwolton with 16 members and two visitors present. Pres. presiding. Roll call responded to be miscellaneous quotations. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Critics report. Mrs. Stooker appointed critic for the meeting. A vote was taken upon the name, proposed for membership, resulting in the election of Mrs. Renolds. Pres. requested Sec. to send a writen invitation to Mrs. Renolds to join the Bary Sisters. Current events given by each member present. Mrs Alexander read a paper upon "Egypt from 2717 B.C. to time of Sheperd Kings' followed by a short discussion by the Club. Recitation by Mrs. Voris. Music "America" by the Club. Mrs. Rathburn read the Poem "The Man and the Hoe," which was quite freely discussed by those present. Club adjourned to need in two weeks with Mrs. Nudge. Ida P. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Critic being absent there was no report of last meeting. Mrs. Crowly appointed critic for the meeting. Current events were given. Mrs. Hurlbert read a paper upon "The Shepherd Kings to 1322." Mrs. Dobson requested the privledge of reading an article entitled "Hands Off" insted of the subject assigned to her, Mrs Humbert read, a reply to the Man and Hoe. Piano solo by Mrs Nudge. Mrs Crowly tendered her resignation and spoke a few farewell words of regret in leaving the Cary Sisters. Moved and seconded that Mrs Crowly be placed on the retired list - carried. Pres. requested nomination for a member to replace Mrs. Crowly. The name of Mrs. Brown was
