The Cary Club met at the house of Mrs. Alexander with 17 members and one visitor present. Pres. presiding. Roll call responded to by quotations from Kipling. Moiuritis of last meeting read and approved. Mrs. Voris appointed critic. Current events given. Moved and carried that the name proposed for membership should not be acted upon for two weeks. Pres. called for nominations were as follows. Mars. Pitiur [Carfunter], and of [Siuthe?]Mars. Stookey gave a reive of the first seven chapters of ["Uarda"?.] Mars. Hurrrphor gave a very interesting description of her Eastern trip. Mars. Ives read a paper written by McKeare upon "The Rarveses". Club adjourned (to meet in two weeks with Mors. Hurlbirt. Mars. Ives Pres Mars. Knowlton Sec. Nov-6-1899 The Cary Sister met at the home of Mrs. Hurlbert with fifteen members and three visitors present. Pres. presiding. Roll call responded to by quotations by Carlton. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Current events were given by most of the members present. A bote was taken upon the name proposed for membership or [revllling?] in the election of Mars. Pitner. Pres. requested Sec. to send a writen invitation to Mors. Pitner to join the Cary Sisters. Pres. appointed Mrs. Dobson and Knowlton to call upon Mars. Pitner and inform her in regard in the CLub. Mrs. Ives gave a recitation entitled "The Last Shall Be First
